Manipulation and Reconciliation as Polar Opposites

This writing contains comparison and contrast evaluations of two methods of popular action: manipulation and reconciliation.

From a general systemic view, manipulation is driven by a single source, while reconciliation is driven by an exponentially increasing set of factors. While reconciliation may be more difficult to initiate than manipulation, critical mass may be attained through it, which causes the reaction to increase exponentially and perpetually. This additional force is generated by its unique quality – its full composition of willing participants. Manipulation, in contrast, is more successful in closed systems, and at low energy levels, but requires that force be applied at increased levels as the system grows, ultimately leading to failure. The negative system's individual connections must be maintained by a single or reduced set of influences, resulting in compromised efficiency and a tendency toward separation. As a consequence of these natural factors, it can be deduced that not only is reconciliation more suited to application in larger systems, but it is in fact the only of the two which is capable of completion.

Agape, Education and Mathematics as Primary Derivatives

Agape( Greek: αγάπη ), for the purpose of this writing, is defined as recognition of the value of other as self, and value of self as other. It is the foundational requirement for fully cooperative human systems. With philosophy introduced as a pathway to education and mathematics, systems begin to emerge, and so the exponential process has reached its secondary set of expressions, such as science, finance, external communication, business, charity and industry. These secondary expressions combine in various ways to form tertiary expressions. Some examples of these tertiary systems are diplomacy, therapy, internal reform, external reform, and non-profit organizations, which yield access to neutral systems, such as agreement, recruitment, tradition, propagation, secularism, translation, logic and growth. These systems are crucial, because they are shared with the opposing ideology, and so, at this level is found the first opportunity for transforming the opposing ideology (keep in mind that the opposing ideology is 'manipulation', which is theoretical, and could be, for example, another aspect of your own behavior, as well as that of another person or group). Yet a fourth level (quaternary) contains universal reform, which yields access to universal systems, based on elemental principles, examples being universal food, medical, finance, energy, water purification, distribution, desalinization, and education systems.

The universal nature of these system relates to intent, inclusiveness, and accessibility. The notable and unique quality of this set of systems relates to its capacity for fluid cooperation, coordination and reorganization, as well as its ability to provide infinite combinations of solutions through combination with:

  1. potentially billions of individuals performing one or more roles with..
  2. multiple ideas per role, multiplied by the reaction to
  3. multiple ideas of other individuals or roles, multiplied by...
  4. the resulting combinations of compatible component solutions
  5. ...and so on, and so on

Negativity is Reflexive

Manipulation is based in negativity, as a reaction to fear and despair (pain, poverty, thirst, hunger, disease, death, etc), which are generally a result of selfishness, isolation and alienation.

The propagation of a manipulation depends on interaction with neutral systems (emotion, logic, agreement, recruitment, tradition, secularism, translation, logic, and growth) through sabotage, domination and distortion.

Proving Ground of Neutrality

The battleground (meant in the metaphorical sense) between manipulation and reconciliation systems is in the area of neutral systems (emotion, logic, agreement, recruitment, tradition, secularism, translation, logic, and growth). Each set of systems operates in this realm, and likely contends for the same psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual resources:

Reflection

In common practice, resolution of conflict is generally attempted by harnessing various combinations of manipulation and reconciliation systems. In some cases, these applications are judged to be successful when they actually only repress the manipulation cycle into a covert or dormant expression, such as mistrust, isolation, distortion, or poverty. This has not solved the problem, only compressed it. By constantly reflecting internally, externally, and universally, a system stands its best chance of not only silencing violence, but dissolving the negativity cycle which supports and perpetuates the violent thoughts and actions.

That, however, is only the beginning. Those elements which were previously invested in negativity are now free to contribute creatively to the betterment of us all.
